LIGHTING DESIGNER

Dalhuysen was born in 1958 and studied at the Academy of Photography and Phototechnics in The Hague, graduating in 1978. He went on to work as a freelance photographer and theatre lighting designer before becoming managing director of the Arinde Visual Design studios in Amsterdam in 1982. He joined the lighting department of Het Muziektheater, Amsterdam, in 1986, and became deputy chief of the department in 2001. He is currently artistic supervisor and resident lighting designer for Dutch National Ballet. 

In addition to his work for Dutch National Ballet, Dalhuysen continues to work as a freelance lighting multimedia designer for ballet, opera and theatre.
