Jose Carlos Blanco

Jose Carlos Blanco Martínez was born in Madrid in 1978. He studied dance at the Víctor Ullate school. At the age of sixteen he joined the Víctor Ullate Company where he was promoted first dancer at the age of twenty. In 2001 he joined the National Dance Company of Spain (CND), under the direction of Nacho Duato, where he worked with such renown choreographers as W. Forsythe, J. Kylian, M.Ek, O. Naharin, J. Godani, O. Anderson and of course Nacho Duato with whom he collaborated in many of his creations. In 2005 he was promoted to principal dancer. In 2010 he joined the CND2 as ballet master under the direction of Herve Palito. In 2011, under the direction of José Carlos Martínez, he started as rehearsal director of the main company.
Since February 2015, he works as a freelance teacher for classical and workshops from Nacho Duato, Gentian Doda, Yoko Taira, Toni Fabre, Juanjo Arques and Alejandro Cerrudo, among others, in addition to participating in different projects.
He has participated in galas next to dancers such as Alicia Amatriain, Daria Klimentova, Friedemann Vogel, Jason Reily, Elisa Badenes, Tamako Akiyama, Ana Laguna, among many others. Since 2014 he is Artistic Coordinator of the gala "Somos Arte” in Valencia.Since 2017 he’s collaborating with Juanjo Arques as his assistant.
